Status

State University. The herbarium is used by staff and students throughout the university (primarily horticulture, ecology, bio-protection and biosecurity, and landscape architecture) and is administered by the Bio-Protection and Ecology Division.

 

Functions

Primarily used in teaching, and to serve as a repository for voucher specimens and departmental research collections.

 

Scope of Collections

New Zealand, especially South Island, plus introduced exotic species (cultivated and naturalised)..

Computerisation

All vascular plant vouchers were entered into a Lotus Approach Database by Roy Edwards (Lincoln University horticulturalist and past LINC curator). The database is now in FileMaker and its content is currently being updated and expanded.
